The case for each
Full Metal Jacket: Kubrick's 1987 Vietnam film: Parris Island boot camp under the drill instructor Hartman, then Private Joker as a war reporter in the battle of Hue. Colder and more ironic than most war films.
Apocalypse Now: Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 film, Heart of Darkness moved to Vietnam: Captain Willard goes upriver to end the rogue Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando). The troubled shoot became a legend of its own; won the Palme d'Or.
